Scarecrow Festival: Results

The Scarecrow Awards went to:

  • Past Scarecrow: Anne & John Gill for St Francis of Assisi

  • Present Scarecrow: Ivy Ashman for Scarecrow Presents

  • Future Scarecrow: Mary Renfree for Computer Dating dot com

  • Past, Present and Future Scarecrow: The Hit or Miss Inn for the Doc from Back to the Future

  • Scarecrow Group: Sandy & Keith Burton for The Crows

  • Special Effects: Kate & Will Bicknell for Egg to Chicken to KLFC

  • Comedy Scarecrow: Kelly & Kevin Gosling for the Union Scarecrow

  • Artistic Presentation: Julie, Victoria & Catherine Baskerville for Children of the War

  • Eco Scarecrow: Philippa Mursell for a scarecrow dressed in crisp packets and other recycled materials

 The coveted People’s Choice Award (voted for by the public) went to

  • Alistair Mathewson for the smoking Dalek.

The Children’s Scarecrow Awards went to:

  • First: Alex, Michael & Ethan Stephenson for Stephenson’s Rocket

  • Second: Jodie Sartain for Caveman

  • Joint Third: Imogen Newton for Mobile Phones
    and Pegasus Craft Club for Past, Present & Future Schoolchildren

The winners of the Scarecrow Scrapheap Challenge, fiercely fought between 14 teams, were:

  • First: Ben, Sarah, Kelly & Natalie for British Airways Cindy

  • Second: Jenny, Olly & Christine for Thomas

  • Third: Eddy, Martin, Dom & Gaz (The Firemen) for Ronnie Corbett on the Piste

The winners of the various other competitions were:

  • Bagatelle at the Pancake House: Children’s, Zac and Adults, Alistair

  • Draw from correct entries for the anagram quiz: Janet Hackett

  • Draw from those nominating the People’s Choice: Joseph Pollard

  • Prize Draw for a Friday Fish Supper for 2 (kindly donated by the Hit or Miss): Julie Brind
