KINGTON LANGLEY
ANNUAL PARISH MEETING
TUESDAY 27 MARCH 2007
VILLAGE HALL REPORT
CLLR. DENNIS GILL
During the last year we have maintained a high usage rate thanks
to our regular hirers; we also continued with two further Rural
Arts Wiltshire events (on the Saturday 21st April "A Wilde Affair"
is our first venture for 2007) these have proved popular in the
past. We have installed a new kitchen at a cost of some £7,000 and
provided a 'nappy changing' facility in the disabled toilet.
The Government in its wisdom continues issue acts, orders and
other regulations which affect all organisations large or small
and anything in between; the Licensing Act is an example. Other
regulations being introduced will have some effect on our future
governance; some of the way we do things will have to change.
After a number of years of stability we find it necessary to
increase our hire charges for the hall and other facilities from
1st April. Other changes and improvements to the hall are and will
be considered in the coming year/years.
The 150 Club (Kington Langley Village Hall Appeal Fund) now has
181 subscribers, four more than this last year! My thanks to those
who contribute their time signing up subscribers. Some of the
subscribers find it a profitable £10 investment.
Finally I extend my thanks to the great amount of work undertaken
by the
Committee, which enables the hall to operate in a smooth and
profitable manner.
Additionally a special thanks to Chas who keeps the hall clean and
tidy.
