Neighbourhood
Watch
There are still isolated occurrences of
vandalism within the village.
There have been reports of needles being
found in the Parkfields area of Chippenham linked to drug taking
also about laser pens being shone at cars, this time town centre -
no description other than male 'youths'.
We are having a spate of lead thefts - a
recent description was of a white male wearing a white track suit
top & blue jeans. Lead is being stolen from church roofs/ town
hall/ building sites etc, at all times of day & night!!
Two robberies - one in Biddestone and one in Sutton Benger. Both
houses were barn conversions and they got in by jemmying the big
doors. Locks completely damaged and bent over. They made a
terrible mess inside but only GOLD was taken - everything else in
a mess but left in the house. At the second burglary they have a
golden retriever the dog was still there and unharmed so they are
obviously not frightened of dogs.
Time of burglary is between 12 and 6
p.m.
I would like to take this opportunity to
remind residents of home security at this time of year, and to
always keep doors and windows locked, and to keep Christmas
presents out of sight at home and in the car whilst out shopping.
It is also a good time to think about recording the details,
including serial numbers of your property and to consider
protective marking of valuables.
Please be mindful of the rubbish you put outside. Don't advertise
your new goods!
Please remain Alert, Vigilant and Report
anything suspicious.
